Strength & Conditioning

Adding Strength & Conditioning to your martial arts regime will boost your athletic performance and prevent injury. Our program is led by a qualified coach who teaches a mixture of strength-based movements such as Olympic lifts and other functional exercises, as well as conditioning circuits that work your anaerobic system.

What is S & C?

Strength and Conditioning training involves a wide range of exercises developed to build a variety of skills with a focus on mind, mobility, stability, strength, endurance, power, speed, agility and performance. Strength and Conditioning programs are generally developed specifically to improve performance in athletic competition. They also help with injury prevention and develop the proper mechanics within an athletes sports performances.

What S&C is Not

S&C is not weight training, olympic lifting, kettlebell, sled pulling, hill sprinting, tyre flipping or suspension training sessions – or indeed any other mode of training you can think of. These are examples of tools. And it’s also not CrossFit, they are workouts. Using strength and conditioning tools to create a ‘beasting’ session doesn’t target specific physical qualities, or provide progression, individualisation or satisfy a long term plan. Often fighters mistakenly perform gym workouts, believing they’re strength and conditioning training.
