Bali MMA was founded in 2014 with a vision to bring quality martial arts training for people of all levels to the tropical paradise of Bali, Indonesia.
Over the years Bali MMA has become a home away from home for fitness enthusiasts and professional athletes from all over the world and has gained a well-deserved reputation as the premier destination for MMA, Muay Thai, BJJ & Fitness training in Bali.
We accept all levels of fitness and fight experience, from beginners, holiday-makers, vacationers, adventure junkies, fitness enthusiasts and professional fighters who come to improve technique and prepare for international bouts.
From the very beginning, our goal has been to provide a true world-class training experience to anyone and everyone who walks through our doors from absolute beginners to professional athletes. MEET THE FOUNDERS
Don Carlo-Clauss
Don is a two-time New York State high school wrestling champion, former NCAA Division 1 wrestler at the University of Virginia and has appeared on promotions such as Strikeforce and Bellator during his MMA career.
Don was also rewarded his Brazilian Jiu Jitsu black belt in 2019 by Reinaldo Ribeiro.
He puts a lifetime of experience and technical knowledge to use as the head MMA and wrestling coach here at Bali MMA.
Andrew Leone
Andrew Leone is a former One Championship World Title Challenger and 1st Degree Brazilian Jiu Jitsu Black Belt under professor Olavo Abreu.
Andrew has won multiple BJJ gold medals in Asia including the Pan-Asian No-Gi championships, ADCC South China trials, Abu Dhabi Jiu Jitsu Pro: Macau and is a 3x Thailand BJJ Open Champion.

Steve Suryadinata
The sport of MMA was growing rapidly around SE Asia and I felt as if Indonesia was being left behind as several other countries had already established world class gyms with high level fighters competing internationally on big promotions.
I always believed that Indonesian athletes could compete at the same level but at the time they lacked access to the proper coaching methods and training facilities when compared to their competitors. I began a global search to look for a team to partner with and ultimately decided that Don & Andrew were the best out of the bunch. They were young, hungry, had the skills needed, and were very eager to develop our local fighters.
Until today, one of the gym’s original missions remains unchanged: to raise the level of Indonesian MMA and its fighters to compete among the very best in the world.
